Senior L3 Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer to join our technical team. In this senior-level role, you will apply your advanced technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, maintain and evolve client platforms, and provide guidance and mentorship to L2/L3 support engineers. You will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of systems and services in a 24/7 operational environment, including mandatory participation in on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, serving as a primary escalation point for critical incidents and outages.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex and high-impact incidents, providing expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Architect, develop, and maintain advanced monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation solutions to proactively prevent incidents and improve operational efficiency.
• Design, optimize, and scale cloud and hybrid system architectures, focusing on reliability, cost-efficiency, security, and performance.
• Implement and manage disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability solutions.
• Drive infrastructure improvements through code: implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and immutable infrastructure principles.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to L2/L3 engineers, including hands-on training, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Collaborate with development and customer teams to identify and eliminate reliability and scalability bottlenecks, support new service rollouts, and automate repetitive operations.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations and providing timely updates.
• Monitor and analyze system health, security, and performance using advanced monitoring/logging tools and dashboards.
• Create, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and runbooks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Production Engineering roles, with direct involvement in incident management and on-call support.
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS (design, deploy, automate, secure, monitor, troubleshoot complex production-grade infrastructure).
• Advanced experience with at least one additional major cloud platform (Azure, GCP, or private cloud/OpenStack).
• Deep knowledge of container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE), Helm, cluster operators, troubleshooting networking/storage/ingress/egress, and supporting microservices at scale.
• Production experience with service mesh solutions (Istio, Linkerd, Consul) and cloud-native networking.
• Solid database skills: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch including performance tuning, high availability, clustering, automated failover, and backup/recovery.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi) and Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack).
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern scripting/programming language (Python, Go, Bash, Ruby, or similar).
• Proficient in monitoring, observability, and incident response: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, AWS CloudWatch, distributed tracing (Jaeger, Zipkin, OpenTelemetry).
• Deep understanding of Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization; solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewall, load balancing).
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, end-to-end pipeline design, security gates, automated testing, canary/blue-green deployments.
• Expertise in GitOps practices and managing infrastructure/deployments via Git-based workflows.
• Strong cloud security skills: least privilege, IAM policy design, secret/credential management (AWS KMS, HashiCorp Vault), vulnerability scanning, audit logging, compliance automation, secure image management, and automated security controls in CI/CD.
• Experience implementing SRE best practices: SLO/SLI/SLA design, error budgets, reliability engineering, capacity planning, chaos engineering.
• Proven track record of taking ownership of critical incidents, conducting blameless postmortems, and driving long-term remediation.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability in managing production and mission-critical systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in distributed/global teams.
• English level: B2 or higher.
