**Overview**

MEDAIR INTERNATIONAL seeks an experienced professional to lead its Ukraine program. As Country Director, you will oversee all program and support activities in-country.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Implement the country strategy by designing, reviewing, and evaluating projects in collaboration with senior managers.
  • Ensure timely implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of planned activities in accordance with project proposals and donor policies.
  • Manage program and support functions, including reviews, management structures, operational procedures, and budget management.
  • Analyze humanitarian needs, trends, and political developments to anticipate new projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with donors to ensure MEDAIR is a partner of choice.

**Operations Management**

Oversee program implementations, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budgets. Ensure good communication with country teams implementing and supporting program plans.

**Financial Management**

Supervise budget management and expenditures, ensuring portfolio management and compliance with approved grants and regulations.

**Security Management**

Overall responsibility for staff safety and security. Oversee updating and implementation of country location security plans, guidelines, and manuals.

**Staff Management**

Line manage designated staff, hold regular team meetings, and develop an effective team through a consultative leadership style and transparent communication structure.

**Quality Management**

Review, develop, and implement systems to detect and prevent loss or fraud. Ensure country programs are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements.

**Team Spiritual Life**

Reflect the values of MEDAIR with team members, local staff, beneficiaries, and external contacts. Contribute to the rich spiritual life of the team, including team devotions, prayers, and words of encouragement.

**Qualifications**

  • University degree in a relevant subject such as Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a relevant technical subject.
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written). Ukrainian will be an advantage.
  • 5 years of post-qualification experience in a management position.
  • 3 years of post-qualification experience in a complex humanitarian emergency.
  • Experience in dealing with donors and government officials.
  • Knowledge of Humanitarian Essentials, Sphere, CHS, and other international humanitarian guidelines.
  • Advanced planning, assessment, and analytical skills. Experience in training/mentoring staff.
