We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Head of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across payments and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS). This role will be central to driving strategic partnerships, expanding market presence, and implementing a U.S.-based BaaS program. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in fintech, banking-as-a-service, cross-border payments, and global partnerships, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams and execute transformative business strategies.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the company's business development strategy in payments and BaaS in US
  • Implement and oversee the U.S. Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, including:
    • Selecting and contracting with the right sponsor banks.
    • Negotiating agreements to ensure scalability and compliance.
    • Defining and managing partnerships with processors, issuers, and other infrastructure providers.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, and technology providers across North America.
  • Build and maintain direct relationships with major card networks (Visa, Mastercard) in the U.S. to support issuing, acquiring, and new payment initiatives.
  • Expand and scale cross-border payment solutions, supporting frictionless international transactions for B2B and consumer use cases.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Technology teams to deliver embedded payment solutions and API-based platforms.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals with global partners, ensuring sustainable revenue growth.
  • Expand and manage a pipeline of enterprise-level clients, leveraging API-enabled banking, payments, and lending solutions.
  • Represent the company at key industry forums, councils, and associations to influence regulatory and market standards.
  • Mentor and lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services.
  • Proven success in business development, client partnerships, and commercial strategy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and scaling BaaS programs, including bank selection, processing, and issuing.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. card networks (Visa, Mastercard) and ability to manage executive-level relationships.
  • Established network of senior decision makers within financial institutions, card networks, fintechs, and processors.
  • Direct experience with cross-border payments, international settlement models, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Strong track record of building platforms, launching products, and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and executive communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with fintech partnerships, embedded payments, and API-based platforms.
  • Previous leadership roles in global organizations (e.g., MasterCard, Visa, Fiserv, Cross River Bank).
