Description
The Dev QA Engineer is responsible for overseeing and leading the quality assurance processes for software/game projects. This role involves designing and implementing advanced test strategies, driving the testing process, and ensuring that the project meets high standards of functionality and performance. The Senior Dev QA works closely with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and bottlenecks. Additionally, they provide mentorship to junior and middle Dev QA, ensuring continuous improvement in testing methodologies and processes to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

Requirements
  • In-depth understanding of game mechanics, design principles, and industry trends.
  • Strong understanding of the development process, software life cycle and testing methodologies;
  • Strong familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum;
  • Advanced skills in using game editors like Unity or Unreal Engine for testing and debugging.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Proficient in testing APIs using tools like Postman.
  • Expert proficiency with PC-specific tools (e.g., Fraps, MSI Afterburner, Process Explorer, GPU-Z) for comprehensive performance and diagnostics;
  • Proficient in console-specific development tools and SDKs (e.g., PS5 SDK, XDK, Nintendo Switch SDK);
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific requirements and submission processes.
  • Proficient in Git or similar version control systems;
  • Extensive experience using Charles or similar tools for analyzing network traffic and ensuring game functionality.
  • Experience in getting and reading logs on different platforms;
  • Experience with CI/CD for testing purposes;
  • Proven ability to mentor and Lead QA teams (Project Lead)
  • A deep enthusiasm for gaming and a commitment to quality
  • Experience in working with estimations
  • Experience in developing and implementing QA processes
Responsibilities
  • Lead manual testing efforts for PC, consols and mobile games, focusing on advanced functionality, performance, and regression testing; (Project Lead)
  • Analyze and report on testing progress and results to stakeholders; (Project Lead)
  • Plan and adapt the work of the QA team according to the set goals; (Project Lead)
  • Review and analyze software requirements, provide feedback and improvement;
  • Mentor Junior and Middle QA engineers, providing guidance and support;
  • Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, and testing documentation;
  • Collaborate closely with development, design, and product teams to influence game design and features;
  • Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps;
  • Expertly utilize game editors (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) to facilitate testing and reproduce complex bugs;
  • Utilize advanced Mobile, PC and Console-specific tools to conduct thorough performance evaluations and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by direct manager if needed.
