The FDFA - Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) is seeking a highly skilled Peace and Human Rights Advocate for OSCE SPU to join our team in Kyiv, Ukraine.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional who can spearhead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a systematic approach to integrate a gender perspective across the SPU's operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in gender issues, human rights, and international development, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive gender mainstreaming framework that aligns with the OSCE's human dimension, security, and cross-dimensional issues.
  • Analyze and support the development of projects, ensuring they are fully gender-mainstreamed and aligned with OSCE commitments and international texts and conventions related to gender equality.
  • Design and deliver training materials and programs on gender mainstreaming, capacity building, and gender equality for staff members and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with colleagues and partners to ensure effective communication and coordination on gender-related issues.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on priority issues of gender mainstreaming to the Chief of Operations.
Requirements
  • A first-level university degree in gender, women's studies, social sciences, international development, human rights, international relations, or other development-related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in gender issues, human rights, and international development, preferably in an international environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze, conceptualize, and evaluate critical matters in the field of gender-related issues and design strategies to address them.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying methodology of gender analysis, gender audits, and gender mainstreaming.
  • Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills, and working knowledge of Ukrainian would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
