Co-chair, MHPSS Technical Working Group

JOB SUMMARY

The primary role of the role is to directly support the convening of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) technical working group (TWG), co-facilitation of meetings, support the organizing of relevant workshops for MHPSS TWG members, and actively guide the relationship building between relevant government ministries and international and local actors. The position will support the operation of the technical working group, facilitate communications and meetings, organize and/or facilitate relevant workshops for participating members based on their needs, and build knowledge and capacity on using relevant evidence-based practices and international guidelines. In addition, the position will also be responsible for ensuring that the NGO membership contributes to and shares MHPSS TWG responsibilities and will play a lead role in developing the active engagement and technical capacity of Ukraine NGO members of the working group. The role will also provide technical and practical support to the IMC co-leads of the regional working groups, in capacity building, the outreach of partners, and strengthening the regional work plans.

International Medical Corps is the MHPSS WG's co-chair agency. Consequently, the position will maintain the reporting lines of her/his organization, report, and be accountable to the MHPSS TWG.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the operation of the Technical Working Group
• Facilitate communications and meetings with TWG members, government ministries, and international/local actors.
• Organize and/or facilitate relevant workshops for participating members based on their needs.
• Contribute to the design of and deliver capacity-building actions such as training of trainers, specialized training, and awareness-raising initiatives for members of the TWG, other coordination groups and clusters as well as the Government, using relevant evidence-based practices and international guidelines.
• Actively build relationships between relevant government ministries and international and local actors.
• Provide technical and practical support to the IMC and local co-leads of the regional working groups, in capacity building, the outreach of partners, and strengthening the regional work
• plans.
• Assist with formulating coordination tools, strategies, advocacy messages, and working plans for the Technical Working Group.
• Support in updating the 4W mapping for MHPSS activities in Ukraine through relevant clusters and other mechanisms.
• Contribute to the development of MHPSS tools for Ukraine. The focus will be on mapping, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation tools to be used by local-level actors.
• Contribute to the joint MHPSS analysis of TWG information and data, leading to joint identification of gaps in the service delivery and agreement on priorities to inform the development (or adaptation) of relevant plans and strategies.
• Ensure that NGO members of the TWG are kept fully informed of the meetings and decisions that take place outside of regular TWG meetings, especially with external stakeholders.

Perform other duties as assigned. Additional duties may also include temporary extension of territorial responsibilities, replacement of vacant positions for a certain period, backup the colleagues on sick leave/annual vacations/business trips, internal overlap of the positions, any specific tasks related to the organizational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced university degree (master's level or equivalent) in mental health or related fields from a recognized university or academic institute.
• Strong experience in coordinating working groups and strategy development.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency response.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with other sectors, particularly health, protection, and education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Ukrainian.
• Creating an empowering and motivating environment.
• Ensuring the effective use of resources.
• Respecting and promoting individual and cultural differences.
• Promotes and ensures technical oversight and guidance to the sector, identifying training needs and facilitating capacity-building efforts.
• The position will be based in Kyiv and coordinate offline and online meetings when required. In addition, the role requires travel to the locations of the regional working groups.
