Senior Technical Delivery Manager

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Technical Delivery Manager to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

About the role:

As a Senior Technical Delivery Manager, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership to one development team, defining low-level technical solutions together with your team and ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices.
• Guide architectural decisions and technical approaches
• Stay current with relevant technologies and methodologies
• Ensure delivery of work according to commitments made, managing the entire process through to production while meeting quality standards.
• Monitor progress against delivery plans
• Ensure proper estimation and implementation practices, and challenge your team if needed
• Maintain transparent communication on progress
• Maintain production stability for the team's area of responsibility, proactively identifying and resolving technical blockers.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems
• Establish incident response procedures
• Conduct root cause analysis for production issues with your team
• Define ways of working for the team in line with global standards, with particular emphasis on Agile methodologies.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives)
• Continuously improve team processes
• Lead the team with a positive mindset, managing all aspects of people development including motivation, conflict resolution, coaching, and fostering psychological safety.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members
• Provide constructive feedback and growth opportunities
• Identify and develop team members' strengths
• Balance agility with necessary governance
• Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for the team's area of accountability, working closely with Product Owners to ensure proper planning and execution (planning responsibility sits at PO).
• Identify technical debt and plan for remediation
• Anticipate scaling and performance needs
• Align technical initiatives with business objectives
• Identify and actively manage impediments, ensuring transparent communication on progress, impediments, and solutions
• Proactively escalate issues when appropriate
• Develop mitigation strategies for identified risks
• Remove obstacles to team productivity
• Collaborate with the Head of Technology to plan and manage team costs, proactively identifying efficiencies while maintaining team motivation.
• Participate in resource planning and budgeting
• Identify opportunities for process optimization
• Balance cost considerations with quality requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience in software development (Java or JS) at least 3 years with hands-on technical expertise
• Experience leading development teams in an Agile environment
• Relevant technical certifications beneficial (e.g., Scrum Master, cloud certifications)
• Track record of successful software delivery from inception to production
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple regions
• Strong technical knowledge in relevant technologies and platforms
• Excellent leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop team members
• Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and practices
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective stakeholder management capabilities
• Advanced coaching and mentoring abilities
• Conflict management and resolution skills
• Team development and continuous improvement mindset
• Proactive, can-do attitude with commitment to lifelong learning
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work autonomously
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience of incident management and service support processes and applying these to a product to ensure that it is built effectively.
• Keeping on top of the latest trends and techniques in both technology and processes and understanding how and when to apply these to your team and work
• Experience of delivery using a modern Software Development Lifecycle with a technical understanding of each step in the lifecycle, the importance of SDLC practices
• Able to define, measure and own KPIs for the team's performance, using these to continuously improve efficiency and engagement.
• Proficiency in moderation, presentation, visualisation techniques and feedback methods with good influencing skills and the ability to make yourself understood to a wide range of staff including near shore/offshore colleagues and external partners
