At this point, Zelh is looking for a Carrier Sales Representative (Cross Border) for one of our clients.

As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will work closely with the existing company's network of carriers as well as establish relationships with new carriers, focusing on reducing transportation costs and improving performance. You will be responsible for taking a proactive approach to mastering the pricing and capacity fluctuations in the truckload shipping market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing carriers

  • Recruit new carriers to achieve a lower cost of transportation and improve performance

  • Be a master negotiator of carrier rates on a spot or transactional basis

  • Source and procure carrier services to ensure the timely pick-up and delivery of customer freight

  • Coordinate the booking and dispatching of shipments to carriers, considering customer requirements, carrier capacity, and delivery deadline

  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely and accurate pick-up, transit, and delivery

  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, damages, or service failures

  • Maintain accurate records of carrier information, contracts, rates, and shipment details

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service, operations, and warehousing, to ensure seamless coordination and customer satisfaction

  • Provide regular reports and updates on carrier performance, shipment status, and relevant metrics

  • Learn various freight market trends based on seasonality, geography, and specialized carrier types to effectively communicate to client-facing representatives
