Communication Consultant

Momentum Wheels for Humanity is implementing Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care in Ukraine project in Ukraine. The ongoing war in Ukraine has significantly disrupted the national healthcare system, particularly access to timely, high-quality rehabilitation services. In response, the project aims to strengthen local health systems by establishing or improving six outpatient rehabilitation departments in hospitals across Ukraine. These departments will serve community members, veterans, and military personnel with war-related injuries and chronic conditions. The initiative includes facility renovations, procurement of NHSU-compliant rehabilitation equipment, and capacity building for healthcare professionals.

The Communication Consultant will be responsible for managing communication efforts for all project activities and maintaining an active presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The consultant will ensure the consistent and effective dissemination of project updates, events, and milestones, adhering to Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care's communication strategy and donor branding guidelines. This role also involves content creation, management, and promotion, as well as collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to amplify the project's impact.

The employee must be willing and able to work in Ukraine.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication and Social Media Management

• Develop clear and compelling communication messages, key talking points, and thematic content that align with Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care's objectives and resonate with target audiences
• Manage and implement the social media strategy for Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care, particularly on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, ensuring timely and accurate posts related to project activities, milestones, and achievements.
• Jointly with the Country Director, develop a content calendar and ensure consistent posting aligned with project goals, ensuring compliance with donor branding and marking strategies.
• In collaboration with a designer, create engaging and impactful visual content to promote project success stories, key events, and project updates.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information for social media and online communication, including highlights from project activities, beneficiary stories, and key achievements.
• Engage with online audiences by responding to comments and queries, fostering an interactive and informative community around Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care.

Content Development and Dissemination

• Draft social media posts, success stories, and other written content that reflect project activities and impact.
• In collaboration with the Country Director and designer, identify opportunities for content creation, including during events, site visits, and interviews with project beneficiaries and partners.
• Ensure all content is translated coordinating with translators for accuracy.

Communication Strategy Implementation

• Support the development and execution of a comprehensive communication plan for the Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care project, in line with the donor's communication and branding requirements.
• Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders to align messaging and ensure consistency in project communications across all channels.
• Analyze engagement metrics on social media platforms and provide recommendations for strategy adjustments to enhance visibility and impact.
• Ensure proper coordination with external stakeholders to amplify project milestones and collaborate on content dissemination.

Reporting and Monitoring

• If needed, prepare and, submit monthly reports on social media engagement, highlighting successful campaigns, key trends, and potential areas for improvement.
• Contribute to donor reporting by summarizing communication outputs and presenting success stories that reflect the impact of the Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care project.
• Track social media analytics and other communication metrics to gauge the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.

Additional Duties

• Collaborate with the broader communication and knowledge management teams to enhance Development of Outpatient Rehabilitation Care's overall visibility and outreach.
• Perform other related tasks as required to support project communication needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Strong background in communications, journalism, and donor relations
• Ability to work under pressure and within limited time frames
• Ability to complete multiple tasks by establishing priorities
• Sound knowledge of the current policies and practices in the field of economic empowerment, and humanitarian action
• Ability to work well independently and with a team
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with good organization and prioritization skills
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, and knowledge management platforms such as DropBox or Box
• Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian
• Excellent written and spoken fluency in English
• Skills in photography, video editing, and social media
