Copy Editor Consultant

Position Summary

Momentum Wheels for Humanity (MWH) is seeking a Copy Editor Consultant to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and stylistic quality in written materials produced under the Rehab4U project.

The consultant must be willing and able to work in Ukraine.

Since 1996, Momentum Wheels for Humanity has increased access to mobility and improved the quality of life for children, teens, and adults with physical disabilities in more than 50 low- and middle-income countries. We build and strengthen rehabilitation services within health systems through training and capacity building, policy and standards development, and supply and distribution of wheelchairs and other life-changing equipment. Key Responsibilities:

• Copy-editing and proofreading reports, briefs, communication products, and other public-facing materials in Ukrainian.
• Ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Improving sentence structure, flow, and overall readability.
• Ensuring tone and style are consistent with the Rehab4U voice and appropriate for the intended audience.
• Coordinating with authors and project team members to clarify ambiguities or address inconsistencies.
• Meeting editing deadlines in alignment with project timelines.

Types of Documents:

• Analytical and narrative reports
• Public communications (press releases, social media texts, campaign materials)
• Website and newsletter content
• Technical documents or policy briefs (as needed)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in copy editing or proofreading (preferably in public sector, development, or civil society contexts)
• Excellent command of Ukrainian (native-level proficiency required)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex, technical texts
• Familiarity with inclusive and non-discriminatory language principles
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines
