Our Banking & Finance practice is seeking a talented and ambitious law graduate for a Junior Associate position. What qualifications and skills you need:

• A completed Master's degree in Law from a leading Ukrainian university.
• 1-2 years of relevant professional experience. While this is an entry-level role for a graduate, some prior experience is needed to handle the steep learning curve of a top-tier firm and contribute more quickly. Experience in the banking and finance or corporate/M&A practice of a law firm is ideal, but we will also consider relevant experience gained in other places or practices.
• A strong academic record and interest in banking and finance law. As the work is highly specialised, we want you to be as engaged in learning the intricacies of financial regulations as we are in teaching them.
• Full professional fluency in Ukrainian and English (written and spoken). Your ability to draft legal documents and communicate clearly in both languages is essential for working with our foreign and local clients. English is the primary working language for most of our documents and correspondence.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and research skills. In our work, a single misplaced comma or an overlooked clause can have major consequences. We need someone who understands the importance of accuracy.
• A proactive and responsible approach to tasks, with the ability to manage your time effectively. We value team members who take initiative on their tasks and can effectively manage their time to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). You will use these constantly. In a fast-paced professional environment, team efficiency is paramount and it is very challenging to stop and explain basic software functions. We expect you to be comfortable with proper formatting lists and paragraphs in Word and creating well-formatted presentations in PowerPoint. If you are not fully confident in your skills, we expect you to be proactive in learning these tools with our general guidance.
• A strong desire to learn and take ownership of your professional development. The Junior Associate role requires a degree of independence. We expect you to be resourceful and try to find answers to basic questions on your own first. That said, we absolutely encourage you to ask thoughtful questions about more complex legal matters, be receptive to constructive feedback, and actively contribute to your growth within the team.

• Conducting legal analysis and drafting memoranda. You will perform comprehensive research on complex legal issues and prepare structured legal memoranda, opinions, and advice for clients and senior lawyers.
• Drafting transactional documents. You will be actively involved in preparing a wide range of legal and financing documents, including facility agreements, security agreements (mortgages, pledges), and other documents in financial transactions.
• Participating in all stages of transactions. You will support the team from the initial structuring and due diligence phase through to negotiation, signing, and closing of financial deals.
• Preparing multiple language legal documents. A part of the role will be preparing and legal proofreading of Ukrainian versions of English language documents and vice versa, ensuring absolute accuracy and the correct use of specialized legal terminology.
• Assisting with client communication. You will help prepare client updates, participate in conference calls, and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships.
