We are a hardcore research team hungry to build the next generation of computer vision and machine learning technology. Ring's R&D-center in Kiev that is focused on applying AI, machine learning, computer vision and intellectual data analysis technology for smart home security products.

Job Summary 
Ring Labs is seeking for a Vice President of Engineering to be a part of its senior technical leadership team and responsible for leading product development strategies and initiatives within our R&D organization. 
The VP of Engineering reports to the CTO, helps to design a winning strategy for the company, oversees the directors and managers as they carry out the plan, measures the results of the strategy, and reports them to the company president. 
The successful candidate will effectively engage with the current team of internal and external resources to define and implement a strategy to scale while improving team morale, product quality and ownership. As a VP you will inspire and support the team in executing consistently, rapidly, and effectively by implementing appropriate forms of product planning, product discovery, and product development processes.

Responsibilities and Duties 
— Lead the team to results that matter. Help ensure that the engineering organization is focused and aligned to deliver on key mission and company-level goals through continuous evaluation of both what we're doing and how we're approaching it 
— Create a technical vision and technology roadmap for the company and plans for implementation of new technical advancements, projects or product lines 
— Hire, attract and retain high performing talented people 
— Work with Quality Assurance as required providing failure analysis, root cause determination, and corrective actions for internal and external product non-conformances 
— Coordinate collaboration between Engineering and Quality Assurance teams 
— Establish and implement product and project documentation procedures 
— Take long-term view and build a shared vision with others

Qualifications and Skills 
— Computer Science or Engineering Degree; advanced degree preferred 
— 10+ years of experience with the successful delivery of commercial software products 
— 4+ years of experience managing successful engineering teams including hiring and performance management 
— Proven track record of team building and executive leadership 
— Ability to think strategically is a must while maintaining focus results and execution excellence 
— Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
— Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences through excellent written and oral communication skills 
— High proficiency & technical leadership in Java, C/C++, Python, SQL, NoSQL, Linux 
— Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, S3, etc.) is required 
— Experience with embedded Linux systems is desirable 
— Knowledge of following technologies is a plus: computer vision, machine learning, video streaming, image quality 
— Experience managing distributed teams is a plus 
— Must be able to communicate effectively in English; VISA to USA is plus
