Short term contract, approximately till January 2026. Locations - various within affordable rates.

The Heroic Trailers team is looking for a Layout Artist Middle to support creation of the high quality in-game cinematic sequences on a story-driven adventure. The layout artist is a supporting role within the animation team. They will ensure that all assets used in animation / cinematics are setup consistently, correctly, and that a 1:1 parity between the animator's work in the DCC and the engine is preserved throughout production. They are also a key point of contact to ensure that the status of all cinematics are kept up to date and the cinematics team are consistently supplied with ready-to-work scenes and assets.

Core duties involve re-purposing assets from other departments for animation / cinematics work. Including but not limited to:
  • Characters / creatures
  • Environment
  • Props
  • Vehicles
  • Audio
  • Reference material
May also involve engine-side work or DCC-engine work, including but not limited to:
  • Optimising settings for cinematic or animation playback.
  • Adding meta-data to animation data to enable cine-gameplay handshaking, expose animation moments as events to be used by design, audio or other departments
  • Identifying and communicating issues and errors within animation content and solving as directed.
Superpowers you have are:
  • knowledge of Motion Builder and UE 5.4;
  • good English;
  • well-organized;
  • good communication skills.
Will be a plus:
  • knowledge of QA and technical animation;
  • experience in the game industry or postproduction;
  • if you are a gamer, who plays and knows the aesthetics of cool games.
