About the role:
The
AI Application Specialists
at 3Shape will play a vital role in driving the technical execution of 3Shape's AI Strategy for After Sales. This requires individuals with a passion for AI, who can connect with business stakeholders and translate their pain points into fungible AI solutions. You will work closely with our AI Business Owner to develop AI use cases, accelerate AI implementation and stay on the cutting edge of AI technology trends.

With AI being a relatively new business domain, the right candidate can have a pivotal influence on 3Shape's AI journey.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead AI Integration: Drive the adoption of AI across the company, ensuring solutions bring measurable impact
• Innovate & Build: Explore, propose, and develop novel AI solutions; push the frontier of agentic AI (tool use, guardrails, knowledge-base integration)
• Design & Deploy Agents: Build and productionize chat/voice agents with TTS integration, LLM reasoning, and robust testing/evaluation loops
• Automate for Scale: Create automation to streamline workflows and boost operational efficiency across business units
• Work with Ownership: Operate independently or in a small, high-impact team, taking full ownership from concept to production
• Enable & Train: Provide enablement and training to internal teams to maximize adoption and effective use of custom AI solutions

Your profile
What we are hoping you have/are:

Education & Experience:

• Master's degree in CS, Data Science, ML, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2–4 years in Software Engineering, or ~2 years ML experience combined with Software Engineering background
• Proven end-to-end solution ownership: you've shipped and supported products in production.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on with Agentic AI Systems (prompt engineering, tool use, and knowledge-base integration)
• Strong Python (Flask/FastAPI)
• Front-end & back-end design experience
• Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET Core)
• Web stack (JavaScript/HTML/CSS)
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, Palantir or Genesys

Other Skills:

• Strong ability to learn and rapidly acquire new skills and convert them into working solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Business acumen: Ability to work with business stakeholders, contextualize business problems/inefficiencies & devise adequate AI solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; good English
• Ambition to take ownership, lead development projects end-to-end
• Eagerness to stay current with AI technology trends and industry best practices

Would be a plus
(or learn on the job if knowledge is required for a given project):

• Demonstrate proficiency in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing (will be a great plus)
• Conversational AI stack: ElevenLabs (TTS/streaming), Azure Speech, telephony/WebRTC, queueing, real-time constraints
• Experience of building / integrating solutions with any other AI modalities: Vision, Audio, 3D, etc.
• MCP Server Integration
• Vector DBs, embeddings, retrieval strategies
• Agent & RAG frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI)
• Practical cloud & DevOps: containers, CI/CD, secrets, logging/metrics
• Any of TypeScript/Node/React/Angular for building agent tools & UIs
