Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Python+React) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.

Our client is a broker platform that offers brokers real-time risk capacity anytime, anywhere. It is a genuine step-change from the current manual and time-consuming process available in the market, providing unprecedented service to brokers and clients. It is a first-of-its-kind digital model that claims to deliver a unique advantage to its business partners. It is the first fully digital and automatically driven Lloyd's of London syndicate. They are transforming the following market within Lloyd's by revolutionizing the broker and client experience, taking an algorithmic approach to underwriting, and creating a learner operation model to benefit all market participants in the long term. They developed and created a platform in 2021, together with partners at Google and UCL, that helps insurance brokers place risks quickly and frictionlessly.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Expertise:

• 5+ years in of experience in full-stack development.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles: SOLID, DRY, ER modeling.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience in a development of single-page web apps using React/TypeScript.
• Skilled in front-end development with responsive UI design.
• Strong HTML/CSS skills, including cross-browser compatibility and accessibility.

DevOps & Cloud:

• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
• Familiar with logging and monitoring tools.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines (continuous integration/delivery).
• Strong in build tools (e.g., Maven) and version control (e.g., Git/GitHub).

Workflow & Process:

• Worked in Agile teams, familiar with Scrum/Kanban.
• Participated in stand-ups, planning, retrospectives.
• Experience using project/workflow tools like Jira.

Domain-Specific Experience:

• Preferable: Experience in financial markets, Fintech, or Insurtech

Soft Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
• Proactive, self-driven, able to take initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills: teamwork, facilitation, negotiation, and planning.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills.
• Fast learner with the ability to grasp new technologies quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build robust and scalable software for business-critical web applications.
• Develop functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile-based sites.
• Design, build, test, document, and maintain APIs and integrations.
• Ensure quality control via automated testing, pair programming, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product team to translate end-user needs into technical solutions.
• Document technical design and perform system architecture analysis.
• Identify growth/improvement areas in current architecture.
• Create mock-ups or prototypes to troubleshoot and test new features.
• Collaborate with UX designers and Product to ensure top-level user experience.
• Explore emerging technologies and quickly develop prototypes.
• Uphold engineering principles and team's ways of working.
