Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international NGO that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations, and training.
INSO provides daily support to more than 1600 NGOs operating in 19 of the world's most insecure countries.
INSO is registered in the Netherlands, with its headquarters based in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.
INSO Ukraine
INSO Ukraine opened in 2015. Since the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, it has rapidly expanded to a complete platform serving the needs of NGOs in a fast-evolving conflict. Currently, more than 240 national and international NGOs receive INSO services, in both Ukrainian and English, including information, analysis and advice through a wide range of written products, meetings and briefings, tailored assessments, crisis support, and a broad range of training courses. Our country office is in Kyiv, supported by field offices in Dnipro and Odesa.
As part of INSO Ukraine, you will play a key role in supporting NGOs and helping aid reach people in need in a safer manner, while at the same time being part of a vibrant and growing humanitarian community bringing together experiences from across the globe.
INSO is now seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Safety Advisor.
Job Summary
The Assistant Safety Advisor will be involved in information collection and data input, reporting, networking with various stakeholders in terms of humanitarian access, among other areas. They will also support the Deputy Safety Advisor (DSA) in the management of a local information network. The position holder will also position themselves as a reference figure for all partner NGOs registered with INSO in relevant regions and provide them with assistance as requested.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain incident database: receive, verify, and enter incident data.
- Together with DSA, maintain and expand a network of contacts at the local and regional levels (population, local authorities, NGOs, law enforcement agencies, etc.).
- Collate and summarise safety and security information if requested by SA.
- Proactively ensure daily liaison with field monitors and submit Requests for Information.
- Assist the SA in the preparation of relevant reports, area assessments, and other products.
- Assist the SA in visualising and analysing data by using charts and mapping tools.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
- A Bachelor's degree; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to periodically travel to other destinations in the region.
- A proven ability to develop and maintain professional networks.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Windows, Office, SharePoint, and mapping software/applications. Knowledge of data analysis and visualization software.
- Strong work ethic and flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Acceptance and understanding of humanitarian principles.
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-graduation work experience.
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of context in the region of assignment.
- Prior experience working with NGOs.
- Existing networks of contacts locally and in the wider region.

Terms & Conditions
Official Employment Contract with a 3-month probationary period with an expected starting date 16 October 2025, UAH Gross salary.
