Your Client

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scala Engineer to join our dynamic team shaping the future of Accounting and Payrolls. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in fast-paced environments, and brings deep expertise in Scala and Java-based backend systems. You will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining scalable, resilient services aligned with our long-term business goals.

Your Role
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Scala.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement robust security and data protection measures.
  • Troubleshoot and debug distributed systems and asynchronous workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Your Profile
  • Minimum 4+ years of backend development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of functional programming, concurrency, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with any of Scala frameworks such as Akka (Actors, Streams, HTTP), Play, Cats (IO, Fs2), Tapir, and Sangria.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Agile mindset with experience in SCRUM or Extreme Programming.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
