Unreal Engine Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI systems, including combat, enemy states, group tactics, pathfinding, perception (EQS, AIPerception), and behavior trees;
• Build and maintain character animation systems such as animation blueprints, state machines, blendspaces, and procedural motion (IK, root motion sync);
• Ensure tight synchronization between combat mechanics and animation logic, including reaction states, hit feedback, casting, dodging, and combo flows;
• Write clean, optimized, and scalable C++ and Blueprint code;
• Collaborate with animators, designers, and other developers to integrate features smoothly into a systemic open-world gameplay loop;
• Debug and profile AI and animation systems to ensure performance and stability at scale;
• Participate in planning, reviews, and remote team rituals with a professional, self-managed mindset.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) development;
• Solid knowledge of C++ and Blueprints with experience delivering polished gameplay features;

• Hands-on experience with:

• AI systems (Behavior Trees, Blackboard, EQS, AIPerception);

• Animation logic (Montages, Blendspaces, State Machines, custom C++ logic).

• Proven contributions to combat-heavy gameplay in shipped or prototype games;

• Strong debugging and optimization skills;
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration abilities in English;
• Self-organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a distributed, cross-functional team.

Will Be a Plus

• Experience with first-person or third-person action RPGs;
• Familiarity with networked animation replication;
• Understanding of sandbox AI, procedural animation, or dynamic NPC interaction systems.
