School counsellor

We are currently seeking a School Counsellor to join our team and support our dedicated teaching staff in delivering exceptional educational experiences to our students.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• A relevant licence or certification for counselling
  

• At least a Bachelor's degree in psychology

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level or higher

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with School administration and Teachers to provide a coherent curriculum and approach to social, emotional wellbeing across the school

• Maintaining the necessary documentation of a school psychologist

• Administers appropriate diagnostic testing

• Coordinates small group and individual counselling sessions with students

• Maintains complete, accurate records and personalised plans for all students receiving counselling support

• Initiates and leads meetings with teachers and/or parents as needed regarding various learning needs and topics related to social, emotional and behavioural development
• Build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them consistently, with respect and consideration and being concerned for their development as learners
• Implement prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals

• Attending professional development when directed by school administration
