Perfsol is helping a client who is developing a personal AI knowledge base that lets users interact with the content they save across the internet — whether it's YouTube videos, podcasts, articles, PDFs, and more.

The client has built a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system to power this chat feature, but they are looking for an expert to optimize and improve the relevance of their retrieval system.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit, design, and optimize the client's existing RAG pipelines.
  • Improve retrieval, reranking, context selection, and query understanding.
  • Collaborate with the client's AI and engineering teams to implement practical solutions.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of the production-grade retrieval system.
  • Share insights from real-world applications to enhance system efficiency and user experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience building production-grade RAG systems or AI retrieval pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of vector search, embeddings, ranking models, and full-text search (FTS).
  • Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques in query understanding, context selection, and retrieval optimization.
  • Ability to turn research into production solutions.
  • Passion for AI and delivering real value to users.

Bonus:

  • Experience with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus.
  • Contributions to open-source AI/NLP projects.
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and integrating them into products.
