Expert AI/ML Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Expert AI/ML Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

About the role:

As an Expert AI/ML Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. The client`s AI Shopping Assistant project - a production-grade, multi-agent, LLM-powered AI chatbot for Denmark's largest discount and benefit portal.Project spanned from architectural design to high-impact Product launch, now serving 500,000+ users across multiple countries and languages. In this role, you will drive the full lifecycle of complex Generative AI systems, combining retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Hybrid search, OpenAI embeddings, LangGraph orchestration, and evaluation frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Multi-agent architecture implementation
  • Create personalized agents such as deal recommendations and FAQs, while maintaining high scalability and multilingual support (multiple regions / languages)
  • Guide and mentor team members in best practices for scalable systems, machine learning models and integration of new technologies
• LLM & RAG system development
  • Engineer custom Advanced Self-Query RAG pipelines using LangChain, LangServe, LangSmith, Hybrid Search and Fusion merging and improve LLM inference
  • Implement fine-tuning techniques for LLama-2-13B LLM using PEFT (Hugging Face) and QLoRA, enabling optimizations on large-scale chat data
  • Design and deploy scalable LLM-based applications in AWS, including Dockerizing, configuring and automating deployment using TGI Inference on AWS EC2, AWS CloudFormation and Docker Compose
  • Ensure integration of LLM inference and RAG systems, achieving performance optimization in latency and token efficiency
• Data pipeline
  • Optimize ML data pipelines for large-scale financial data processing, create advanced data storage solutions like Minio, Iceberg Catalog and Trino Engine for high-throughput data management
  • Work closely with Data Engineering team to increase efficiency in the processing and aggregation of terabytes of data (users and transaction data)
• Predictive model engineering
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate model assumptions and improve model performance
  • Present and demonstrate model outcomes and business impacts to stakeholders, ensuring alignment between ML solutions and business goals
• Performance optimization
  • Focus on optimizing model efficiency, reducing processing time and improving scalability for systems serving large user bases (500,000+ users)
  • Optimize token usage and minimize unnecessary resource consumption without sacrificing model performance

Requirements:

• Expertise in LLM development, RAG systems and related frameworks (LangChain, LangServe, LangSmith, OpenSearch)
• Advanced knowledge of model fine-tuning (PEFT, QLoRA) for large models like LLama-2-13B
• Solid understanding of AWS ECS, EC2, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, S3, and CloudWatch environments
