Key requirementsOur Banking & Finance practice is seeking a highly motivated senior law student for a Paralegal position. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain substantive, hands-on experience by working directly with our lawyers on complex transactions for Ukrainian and international banks, major global corporate groups, international financial institutions, Ukrainian and foreign governments and governmental agencies.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is eager to apply their academic knowledge to practical legal challenges and build a strong foundation for their career.
What you can expect when you join our team:
- Work on landmark deals from day one. You will dive headfirst into the real, complex and high-stakes work that defines Ukraine's business landscape. You will contribute to the landmark transactions and landmark cases you read about in the news, gaining hands-on experience with international clients and precedent-setting projects.
- Learn from the best to become the best. Your colleagues and mentors will be lawyers who are consistently recognised as leaders in their fields by top international rankings like Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500. We foster a culture of open collaboration where questions are encouraged and your development is a priority. Through structured feedback and mentorship, we invest heavily in your growth.
- A global platform for your ambition. With clients that include Fortune 500 companies and the world's leading financial institutions, your work will have an international dimension. You will develop a global mindset, hone your English legal drafting to the highest standard and build a professional network that spans borders.
- More than law: shape the legal landscape. Our influence extends beyond client work. We are actively involved in shaping Ukraine's legal and business environment and you will have the chance to contribute to significant legislative reform initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to see how the law is made and to play a part in building a better, more transparent future for business in Ukraine.
What qualifications and skills you need:
- Currently enrolled as a 4th-year undergraduate or Master's degree student at a leading Ukrainian university.
We understand that your university commitments are important and can discuss a flexible schedule to accommodate your classes. This role is specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and legal practice, allowing you to apply what you learn as a student to real-world transactions.
- A strong academic record and interest in banking and finance law.
As the work is highly specialised, we want you to be as engaged in learning the intricacies of financial regulations as we are in teaching them.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
Fluency is a significant advantage due to our work with international clients. English is the primary working language for most of our documents and correspondence. We are ideally looking for a fluent speaker but will consider candidates with a strong intermediate (B1+) level who are committed to improving.
- Attention to detail, with strong analytical and research skills.
In our work, a single misplaced comma or an overlooked clause can have major consequences. We need someone who understands the importance of accuracy.
- A proactive and responsible approach to tasks, with the ability to manage your time effectively.
We value team members who take initiative on their tasks and can effectively manage their time to meet deadlines, especially while balancing work with university studies.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
You will use these constantly. In a fast-paced professional environment, team efficiency is paramount and it is very challenging to stop and explain basic software functions. We expect you to be comfortable with proper formatting lists and paragraphs in Word and creating well-formatted presentations in PowerPoint. If you are not fully confident in your skills, we expect you to be proactive in learning these tools with our general guidance.
- A strong desire to learn and develop professionally within a collaborative team environment.
This role is also a training ground. We expect you to ask questions, be receptive to feedback, and show a clear commitment to growing professionally within our team.

- Preparing multiple language legal documents. A part of the role will be preparing and legal proofreading of Ukrainian versions of English language documents and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and correct use of legal terminology.
- Provide support in preparation of documents. You will assist in the basic preparation of legal and financing documents. This includes proofreading agreements for consistency, compiling annexes and preparing final document packages for signing.
