GlobalLogic is inviting an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team and work on a strategic engagement with Cloudera, a global leader in enterprise data management and analytics.

You will be part of a highly skilled international team responsible for building and optimizing large-scale data platforms that power mission-critical business solutions, with a focus on advanced storage, streaming, and governance. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge big data technologies and influence how enterprises process, store, and govern their data at scale.

Requirements
6+ years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer or similar role.

Strong hands-on expertise with:

• Distributed systems design and implementation
• Query planning and execution engines (e.g., Spark SQL, Hive/Impala)
• Performance optimization techniques for large-scale data processing

Solid understanding of distributed computing principles, including fault tolerance and scalability.

Experience with big data ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, etc.).

Proficiency in one of the programming languages: Python, Scala, or Java.

Good knowledge of data modeling, ETL design patterns, and optimization tools.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in an agile, globally distributed team.

Good spoken and written English (B2+).

Job responsibilities

Design and develop distributed data platforms with efficient query planning and execution.

Optimize system performance through advanced tuning of query engines and resource allocation.

Collaborate with product and platform teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and efficiency across distributed environments.

Perform root cause analysis on performance bottlenecks and provide long-term optimization strategies.

Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
