The project revolver around ML models creation for Timeseries Forecasting of future sales of the company.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to write robust, maintainable, and extendable code in Python.
  • Expertise in applied data science methods and machine learning algorithms. ML solutions for Timeseries Forecasting
  • Data wrangling expertise with structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong background in mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • Good understanding of principles of solution architecture and technical design.
  • Snowflake for data mining and analysis
  • LGBM (LightGBM) for gradient boosting model experiments
  • Pandas for data preprocessing and manipulation
  • Experience with cloud architecture and technologies (preferably AWS SageMaker, Kubernetes, and Docker) and MLOps concepts
  • Agile methodology for project management and collaboration
  • Effective communication skills (with team members, the business, and in code).

Job Responsibilities:

As a member of Nike's data science team, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive insights and optimize business strategies. You will work in a dynamic and multicultural environment, employing cutting-edge technologies to develop and deploy advanced machine learning models. Your primary responsibilities will include data mining with Snowflake, creating experiments with gradient boosting models like LGBM, and optimizing model performance using AWS SageMaker. Collaboration within an Agile framework will be essential as you contribute to enhancing the company's competitive edge in the retail market.

  • Conduct data mining and analysis using Snowflake to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
  • Design, develop, and experiment with gradient boosting models such as LGBM to address various business challenges and opportunities.
  • Implement and optimize machine learning pipelines using Pandas for data preprocessing and manipulation.
  • Utilize AWS SageMaker to build, train, and deploy machine learning models at scale, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.
  • Work collaboratively within an Agile team environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, applying techniques for optimization and fine-tuning to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, data science, and retail industry trends, contributing to ongoing innovation and improvement initiatives.
