We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist / Data Analyst to step into a key backfill role, taking ownership of data integration, analytics, and orchestration of new data sources. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping our data strategy and collaborating closely with our AI Architect and MLOps Engineer to drive both our MVP and its future evolution.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience
  • 5+ years in data science or analytics (or data-forward business intelligence roles), with hands-on experience in data ingestion, analytics, and pipeline workflows.
  • Strong track record collaborating with technical teams (e.g., AI, MLOps) to operationalize models.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and working with large language models.
  • Capable of handling basic ETL tasks (e.g., ingestion, transformation, cleaning).
  • Business Acumen
  • Comfortable immersing in domain-specific challenges, possessing curiosity and a data-analytic mindset.
  • Proven ability to translate data outputs into clear, strategic insights.
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Skilled in articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through data storytelling.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to manage priorities and deliver with minimal guidance.
  • Flexibility
  • Availability for ~20 hours per week initially, with potential evolution of scope and commitment.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Experience in private equity, M&A, or investment analysis environments.
  • Previous involvement in building data infrastructure, dashboards, or internal analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, versioning, or deployment (e.g., basic exposure to MLOps practices).
  • Domain knowledge in technology assessments, due diligence frameworks, or KPI-driven evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data Strategy & Ownership
  • Evaluate and integrate diverse data sources, proactively identifying new data opportunities.
  • Develop and drive a scalable data strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Advanced Analytics & Insights
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Design dashboards, visualizations, and reporting to inform stakeholders across the organization.
  • Prompt Engineering & LLM Integration
  • Design, iterate, and refine prompts to optimally package data for large language model (LLM) input.
  • Collaborate on training and fine-tuning strategies to enhance AI-driven deliverables.
  • ETL & Data Pipeline Support
  • Conduct light ETL tasks as needed to ingest, clean, and prepare data for analysis and model building.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with AI and MLOps teams to support MVP development and scale deliverables beyond initial milestones.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to ensure data initiatives are aligned with the company's strategy.
