Deputy Country Director (m/f/d) full-time

(Position for 1 year with the possibility of extension)

YOUR DEPARTMENT

As Deputy Country Director you will be assigned to the Representative office of "humedica e.V." in Ukraine and will be working in Kiev, Ukraine.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement organisational strategies, structures, and processes across all departments in Ukraine
• Support the Country Director in translating national strategies into operational plans
• Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
• Lead the digitalization of departments and workflows
• Coordinate across departments and field offices
• Fulfil the role of the Country Director when delegated or in his absence
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, national legislation, and internal standards
• Represent humedica in coordination forums and with external stakeholders
• Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts

Your Profile

• University degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in humanitarian/development work, including 3 years in leadership
• Proven skills in organisational development and compliance
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities
• Fluent in German, English, and Ukrainian/Russian
• Knowledge of donor regulations (e.g. UHF, ECHO, GFFO, BMZ)

Desirable:

• Experience in conflict settings (e.g. Ukraine)
• Familiarity with humanitarian standards (CHS, Sphere, IASC)
• Technical know-how in Health, MHPSS, Protection, CASH and/or WASH
